1. Information We Collect
Venusly may collect information you provide in the app, including your name, email address, birth date, birth time, birthplace, relationship status, private onboarding answers, sketch preferences, app settings, and support messages.
We may also collect generated reading history, purchase status, subscription entitlement data, device information needed for app security and diagnostics, and basic usage information needed to operate and improve the app.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and personalize your soulmate sketch and reading experience.
- To save your results and restore access on supported devices.
- To process subscriptions, restore purchases, and verify premium access.
- To provide customer support, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve app reliability.
- To comply with legal, platform, and security requirements.
3. AI Generated Content
Venusly uses AI services on four surfaces: the written reveal, the sketch image, the palm reading, and the in-app AI guide you can ask questions in. To produce these we send the answers you gave in the app - such as your name, birth details and what you told us you are looking for - to our own backend, which passes them to the model providers named below. Anything you type to the AI guide is sent the same way.
Venusly is an entertainment app. Readings, sketches, relationship signals, astrology-style content, lucky numbers, and future-oriented statements are not professional advice and are not guaranteed predictions.
4. Camera and Photos
The palm reading lets you take a photo of your hand or choose one from your device. That photo is used on your device to render the reading and is not uploaded to Venusly or to any third party. Camera access is requested only at the moment you choose to take the photo, and you can use the rest of the app without granting it.
The sketch that Venusly generates for you is created on our servers and stored there at an unlisted address, filed under the random identifier your device generated, so your reveal still has its face when you reopen the app. It is never listed, published or sold, and it is removed when you delete your data.
5. Location and Birthplace Search
If birthplace search is enabled, Venusly sends the place text you type to the Google Places API to return city suggestions. This is the birthplace you enter for your reading. Venusly does not request location permission and does not collect your device's location.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, entitlements, product identifiers, purchase events, and restore-purchase support.
7. Service Providers
We use service providers to operate Venusly, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend functions.
- RevenueCat for subscription and purchase management.
- OpenAI and xAI for AI-generated reading and AI guide text.
- Replicate for generating the sketch image.
- PostHog for anonymous usage analytics, recorded against a random identifier your device generates rather than your name or an advertising ID.
- Google Places API for birthplace autocomplete when enabled.
- Google Play and Apple for app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the app, process purchases, generate requested content, provide support, comply with law, or protect the app from misuse.
9. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain purchase records, resolve support issues, comply with legal obligations, and improve app reliability. You may request deletion of your personal information using the contact information below.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted network connections where supported. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
11. Children
Venusly is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is listed that way on Google Play. It is not directed to children. If we learn that a child provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Your Choices
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. You can also restore purchases inside the app settings. Subscription cancellation is handled through Google Play or Apple subscription settings.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this page.
